Touchdown, Turnaround

Gidday,

So were home now. Yay. A fridge full of food (yay!), hot showers whenever I want one (yay!), and free internet (mega yay!). And even though I'm glad to be back home and have my Gidgetnator and my BFFATTEOTASO, I already miss New Zealand. Why? Seriously, like, fish -n- chips. Just fish -n- chips. That's all I have to say.

Okay I lied. I also miss seeing the beach every other day, eating Digestive Biscuits after dinner, driving on the left side of the road (seriously, now I freak out whenever we drive down the road here!), Kiwi humor, how they spell 'tyres', Kinder Eggs, and, of course, shorts and jandels (flip-flops)! I miss not knowing how to pronounce the names of towns (I still can't pronounce them), seeing kids going to school bare foot as we passed in the van, tea, Milo, and just about a billion other things.

So my mom explained the Airport Sprint and our flights. Let me explain the after effects. One: you fall asleep at four o'clock in the morning. B: you wake up at 2 pm. Three: well, you have absolutely no idea what is going on in America. Unless your  dad has the New York Times send you phone updates. And you say things like: Where's the trundlers? No one has any idea what in the world you are talking about.

So now I have gotten two days at home. Mind you, I've been sleeping till two, soooo, I get about six hours of daylight. And then I fall asleep at four am. I really, strongly, dislike jet lag. But tomorrow I leave for my eighth grade trip. Four days with my peers traveling across the state of North Carolina. I get to go to the beach. I have a nagging suspicion I'll be slightly disappointed by the Outer Banks. Anyway, guess what time I have to wake up at tomorrow? Four o'clock to be able to get to school by five. I might get two hours of sleep. Good thing it's a long bus ride, full of eighth grade girls. D':

So anyway, here are my top picks of photos.

Don't I look great after flying for hours! (Auckland Airport)

Penguins!

Ginger Beer at the Green Dragon.

Our Hobbit-like family.

Yay, four days with no showers coming up!

Look below at my Dad's post about how things looked 20 years ago... I am wearing my Mom's jacket (same one she wore) in the same spot at Pancake Rocks.  Weird, huh?

Me at one of my top places I wanted to go, The Sheep-Dog National Monument.

There were more, but this computer hates me and didn't load them. Oh, well. You've seen most of my favorites anyway.

So our journey has ended. It's kinda sad. I mean, where in NC can I find good fish -n- chips?!

Don't be sad that the journey ended, be happy that the journey ended. Because to end, there has to be a beginning and a middle. ~Quote Skyler Singleton Okay, it's a little weird, but think about it. Why dwell on the end when you did such great things in the beginning and middle?

I guess that now I have to wait for my family's next big adventure. And what an adventure it'll be!

Peace out and thanks for reading our blog,

Skyler
